I have worked in the mental health field since 1991, following my graduation from Pacific Lutheran University with my BA in Psychology. In 1993 I completed the “Long Term treatment of Psychiatric Disorders” Certification at the University of Washington School of Social Work. In 1996 I completed my MA in Counseling Psychology at St. Martin University. I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State since 2001.

I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp).

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient Community Mental Health, In-Home Wrap-Around Care, and Non-Profit Family Services.

I have received extensive training in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Narrative, and Experiential Therapies.

My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the existential belief that the intentionality of care or wishing someone well is foundational for any therapeutic relationship. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming, and trauma-informed therapeutic space grounded in unconditional positive regard, allowing clients to access their innate wisdom, resilience, and insight on their journey towards healing and recovery. I am passionate about helping people recover from disordered eating and eating disorders through a HAES-informed perspective (Health at Every Size) and through partnering with other treating professionals such as dietitians, nutritionists, and PCPs as needed. Witnessing and supporting people on their therapeutic journeys throughout my career has been and continues to be an incredible honor and gift that I hold in great esteem.
